How to watch Cardiff City vs Preston North End live in FA Cup third round


The Preston North End Emirates FA Cup Third Round match against Cardiff City is being broadcast live across the UK on free television by Welsh broadcaster S4C.

The match kicks off at 2:00 p.m. on Sunday, January 9, and coverage of S4C begins at 1:45 p.m.

S4C is a Welsh language broadcaster, but fans will also be able to watch the game with English commentary, provided by former Welsh international Joe Ledley via the Red Button service.

The match will also be available to watch live on the BBC via the red button, with commentary in English.

Outside Wales, S4C is available on the following channels: Sky 134, Freesat 120 and Virgin TV 166.

Do I need an account to access S4C Clic?

Yes, you will need to create an account to access S4C Clic. It’s easy and free to create an account.

Switch the language to English (top right of the screen) to change the language. Then go to and click on “Register now”. Enter your name, your e-mail address and the chosen password, then click on “Next”. This will ask for a confirmation email to be sent to your account. Find the email, click the link to confirm your account, and you’re good to go.

How do I access the match commentaries in English?

Fans watching the game on Sky, Freview, Virgin or Freesat can access the commentary in English simply by pressing the red button.

For Sky Q users, the process is different. To access the commentary in English, press the home button, go to “settings”, press the right arrow, then configure, preferences, audio language and change it to “welsh”. Once you’ve done that, the English commentary will automatically start whenever it’s available in the future.

English commentary is also available for those watching on S4C Clic.
