Police arrest Zamfara highway kidnapper in operation, AK-47 recovered


Zamfara State Police Command arrested a notorious bandit, Sani Mati, who allegedly specializes in kidnappings and cattle rustling.

State Police Commissioner Ayuba Elkana said so on Wednesday during a briefing to reporters in his office.

Elkana said: “On December 28, 2021, at around 5 a.m., tactical police officers deployed along the Zurmi Axis as they carried out a confidence-building patrol acted on the information base. intelligence that led to the arrest of a notorious bandit, Sani mati (Mai Yammata).

“He was arrested as he tried to block the road and kidnap innocent commuters in a village called Koliya.

“It used to belong to the Turji camp, but now operates under the direction of a notorious bandit leader, Kachalla Sani Black, who operates in the Zurmi, Shinkafi and Birnin Magaji axis.

“He was arrested with an AK-47 rifle, twin magazines with three rounds and a boxer motorcycle.

“He is currently under investigation and will soon be indicted in court.”
