Two teenagers charged in Tonbridge murder – Reuters


TWO teenagers have been charged with murder following a fatal stabbing last Friday (August 19) in Tonbridge.

A 17-year-old boy from Coulsdon and a 16-year-old boy from Tonbridge are due to appear at Medway Magistrates’ Court today (Wednesday August 24).

The victim is now named Thomas Waugh, 20, who was assaulted in the early hours of Friday, August 19, 2022. His family has given permission for his photo to be released.

The two suspects have also been charged with the attempted robbery of Mr Waugh, as well as an additional count of robbery relating to two men who had been with him before the alleged murder.

Police had also previously arrested a 16-year-old girl and a 47-year-old woman. They have now been released on bail pending further investigation, police said on Wednesday.

The Kent and Essex Serious Crime Branch has called on anyone with information, who has not yet contacted police, to contact them on 101, quoting reference 46/YY/13700/22.
